Ash

A gender-bent Cinderella retelling, Ash Cinder grew up on his family’s farm.  He’s always loved nature, working the land, and the bond he has with his animals.  His mother died when he was young but his father raised him alone for several years before remarrying a beautiful widow with three children of her own.  After his father’s death, the widow’s true nature is revealed and Ash becomes the whipping boy and free labor to keep the family farm running. 

A decade later, his country’s princess, Kamya,  is coming of age and the law states that if she’s not married and trying to conceive the next heir to the throne by her next birthday, she rescinds her right to rule.  She holds a ball where all the eligible men are welcome to attend to try for her hand.  When things don’t go according to plan, no one’s life will ever be the same.  What’s a girl to do when she has a deadline to meet, a country to rule, and no clue who to marry?
